VIRTUS

It is the policy of the Roman Catholic Church, and our Archdiocese and Parish that all individuals who interact with children be VIRTUS® trained. This training is available in the parish several times a year. To check for the next available date if you are in need of training, please contact the Mary Mattern, the parish/school VIRTUS® Coordinator at marym@corpuschristilks.org. In addition to this training each employee or volunteer must read the Archdiocesan Child Protection Policy, the Code of Ethical Standards for the Archdiocese and the Archdiocesan Harassment Policy. After these documents are read, there are forms to be signed and returned to the school. Included in these forms is an authorization to allow the parish to conduct a background check on each individual that is involved with children.

The safety and health of all our children is most important to us, as it is to all parents. This program helps us to ensure the spiritual, emotional and physical well being of the most precious gifts of God: our children.

These forms will have to be on file before you can volunteer as a teacher aide, coach, assistant coach, office volunteer, room parent, field trip volunteer, lunch helper or field day volunteer.
