A Message from Mrs. Mary Mattern, Principal of Corpus Christi Catholic School

Mary Mattern, Principal

Welcome to the Corpus Christi Catholic School Website!

Corpus Christi Catholic School continues to grow and evolve in positive ways. Our school family welcomes over thirty new families into our community this fall. This growth is evidence of the quality Catholic education being provided within these walls. Each young student is a reminder to me of just how great God’s gifts are. Eighteen faculty and staff are returning to our school with a new technology teacher, kindergarten teacher, another second grade teacher and creative art teacher. We are very proud to be able to continue teaching our children using the PolyVision eno© interactive whiteboards to make learning come alive on a daily basis through technology. Math and reading labs are an integral part of our core curriculum, and the spiritual focus of our year will be, “United in God’s Teachings”. We will ask our children to take their spiritual knowledge and use it daily as a way to make a difference.

School goals include building on the success we are experiencing as evidenced by The Kansas State Assessment scores. Tests show phenomenal scores for our students in Reading and Math. A multi-tiered system of support is implemented throughout the school. This system of education allows each child to reach their maximum learning potential. In addition, increased communication between students, faculty, and families will make 2010-2011 a year of many accomplishments.

We are pleased to begin the process of adding seventh grade to our Saints family for the 2011-2012 school year, with the addition of eighth grade the following year. We have met with the architects and the Archdiocese and are on our way to making this a reality. My heart is wrapped tightly around education. I believe in the talents and potential of each and every student and am in constant awe at the beauty of growth and learning at the elementary school level, especially the growth and learning provided by a Catholic education. We have a lot of wonderful things happening here at Corpus Christi, and my door is always open to share them with you.

It has been my honor to educate hundreds of children for the past twenty years. I have had the great pleasure of watching Corpus Christi grow and develop throughout the past eight years. I am grateful for your support last year as a first year principal. I look forward to the year ahead and together we can make a difference for our children. Our mission at Corpus Christi is always focused on getting our little saints to heaven! I am happy to be able to lead our community in this way; Corpus Christi is my home!

I look forward to witnessing great things happen with every child this year as they rise to meet the many new challenges ahead, hand-in-hand with Jesus.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, suggestions, or concerns you may have. I look forward to making 2010-2011 the best school year yet for us all.

God Bless You and Your Family,

Mrs. Mary Mattern
